Hydroxychloroquine is recommended by ICMR for the prevention of new coronavirus infections. This recommendation was made only for high-risk individuals (i.e. people at high risk of being exposed to the virus) and emergency situations. It can be used to prophylaxis for asymptomatic health workers who are caring for COVID-19-confirmed or suspected cases.
